We have learned the results of the first edition of the ORLEN Lang Team Race cycling series, which took place in Arłamów on Saturday. Crowds of amateur cyclists took on a demanding route along a picturesque Bieszczady loop. Races in the open categories were won by Artur Sowiński and Kamila Wójcikiewicz-Płotkowiak. There was no shortage of tough climbs and great emotions!
The competition under the banner of the ORLEN Lang Team Race in Arłamów inaugurated this year’s edition of the series. Organized by Lang Team and Czesław Lang, the event series for amateur cyclists once again attracted many two-wheel enthusiasts to the starting line.
On Saturday, they faced a 69-kilometer distance routed through the Bieszczady hills. The competition began and ended near the Arłamów Hotel, and along the way, the riders tackled climbs including Gruszowa, Kalwaria Pacławska and Koniusza. These climbs are well known to both amateurs, who were racing on these roads once again, and professionals, who have visited here several times as part of the Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour.
The demanding climbs and the route set against beautiful landscapes provided plenty of excitement for the competitors and the fans supporting them. Participants in every age category gave it their all. Some fought for victory, others to finish the race with a satisfying result. In the final open men’s classification, Artur Sowiński (HS Cycling Team) triumphed, ahead of Patryk Gieracki (WALBET Team) and Janek Miazga (HS Cycling Team). Among the women, the best was Kamila Wójcikiewicz-Płotkowiak (Agrochest Team), ahead of Sonia Cięciel (MPCC Hisense Ferrbud Team) and Marta Motylewska (GVT PCG/PKK).

The competition in Arłamów, whose Title Sponsor is ORLEN, was traditionally accompanied by professional organization and safety measures, which are the hallmark of the ORLEN Lang Team Race series. The male and female riders were classified in over a dozen categories. A separate classification was also prepared for the employees of the ORLEN Group, who also took part in the ORLEN Lang Team Race in Arłamów.
The winners of the individual categories donned the series leaders’ jerseys from EKOÏ on the podium. The French brand and the Germina company also funded prizes for the participants. Each of the competitors received a starter pack with products from the Fitness Authority and Vitarade brands, as well as a VERVA isotonic drink from ORLEN. Additionally, in the EXPO zone within the race village, riders could make use of the bike servicing provided by Decathlon.
The atmosphere of the cycling celebration during the ORLEN Lang Team Race in Arłamów will be remembered for a long time. The next opportunity to participate in the competitions within this prestigious series will take place on August 8 at BUKOVINA Resort, where the ORLEN Tour de Pologne Amateurs – Ryszard Szurkowski Memorial will be held. The final stage of the series will take place on September 19 in Bytów.
