The competition in the Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour is an elite cycling race featuring the best teams in the world. At the same time, the organizers promote cycling among enthusiasts, who will once again be able to take part in the ORLEN Tour de Pologne Amatorów – the Ryszard Szurkowski Memorial. The event will take place on August 8 in Bukowina Tatrzańska.
For years, the Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour has not been solely a race for professionals. It also includes numerous accompanying events, such as the ORLEN Tour de Pologne Amatorów – the Ryszard Szurkowski Memorial. The competition commemorating the Polish world champion and Olympic silver medalist has been held parallel to the elite race for years.
It will be no different this time around – on August 8, thousands of amateur cyclists will stand at the starting line of this year’s edition of the race, which will take place on a demanding route from the BUKOVINA Resort to the Rusin-Ski Ski Station.
Czesław Lang and the Lang Team have prepared an exciting circuit for the competitors. The peloton will cross the iconic and incredibly steep BUKOVINA Wall in Gliczarów twice and after just under 54 kilometers of racing on Tatra roads, the cyclists will finish at the Rusin-Ski Station. It will be quite a treat for mountain climbing specialists and an opportunity to test their form in a unique atmosphere.
This is because the race will be held just a few hours before the professionals compete in the 83rd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour, giving amateur cyclists the chance to ride a world-class course at the highest level.
