How to plan peak form for the ORLEN Lang Team Race Series?

The 2026 cycling season for amateurs is shaping up to be exceptionally intense. Three key events in the ORLEN Lang Team Race series will require not only determination, but above all a well-thought-out training plan that allows riders to reach peak form at exactly the right moments:

  • May 16 – ORLEN Lang Team Race Arłamów

  • August 8 – ORLEN Tour de Pologne Amateurs BUKOVINA Resort

  • September 19 – ORLEN Lang Team Race Bytów

More and more experienced amateur cyclists now train almost like professionals, heading to winter training camps in Spain or southern Europe. However, achieving high cycling performance does not have to mean a complete lifestyle overhaul — it can also be built effectively without turning everyday life upside down.

Consistency over volume

For every amateur cyclist — whether your main goal is enjoyment or a strong sporting result — the key to success is regularity, not the sheer number of hours spent on the bike. Even a relatively low training volume, when followed consistently over several months, can lead to a very noticeable improvement in form.

Instead of long, infrequent sessions, it is better to focus on shorter, well-planned workouts that are easier to fit into a daily routine. This approach allows you to train effectively without sacrificing work or family life.

The indoor trainer – the foundation of winter and early spring

The simplest and most accessible form of cycling training during the winter season is the indoor trainer. Training at home — regardless of the weather — makes it possible to precisely control intensity and saves valuable time otherwise spent commuting.

It is on the trainer that aerobic base, endurance, and overall fitness are most easily developed, preparing the body for the more intense efforts that will come in spring, ahead of the first race in Arłamów.

Weekends outdoors – more than just watts

As soon as the weather allows, weekends should be dedicated to riding outdoors. “Outside” training is not only more enjoyable, but also crucial for developing cornering skills, riding in a group, and gaining a better feel for the bike and road surface.

These are elements that cannot be fully replaced by indoor training, yet they play a huge role during races such as those in the ORLEN Lang Team Race series.

Three peaks of form

A properly planned season makes it possible to build form in waves — the first peak in May, the next in August, and the final one in September. This way, each race in the ORLEN Lang Team Race series becomes not only a sporting challenge, but also an opportunity to measure the results of consistent, well-structured training.

A good plan, consistency, and smart use of time are the best path to achieving strong cycling form.

See you at the start!
